Lent Series - First Sunday - The Altar

Today's word is...

The Altar

Today we go within, this time approaching The Altar. The Altar is that place in consciousness where we willingly advance and move ourselves to, making the choice to lay it all down. We are making a bold decision to let go all that we have peeled away that has previously shackled us. We release the thoughts, the words and the prior actions that perhaps have created a bondage to our limited way of thinking, being and acting only from our humanness.

Here we say I Am ready and willing. I Am open to receive. I present myself as an empty vessel by consciously releasing and letting go of all that does not serve the Divinity I Am. I ask the indwelling Presence of Good, of Sacred Light, to dissolve all that I choose to lay on the altar. Here I claim liberty from the bondage of self and continue to prepare for my resurrection day.

Approach The Altar with reverence and say; "I let go of all judgment of self, of others, of situations and circumstances and present myself holy, willing and accepting of the change in me I Am about to receive. I do so with reverential thanksgiving and I Am sanctified."

In his classic work Keep a True Lent, Charles Fillmore offers daily words of inspiration to reflect on as we move ourselves towards our own resurrection day and the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday and all the newness of Life that it holds for all of us.

For those of you that would like to dive in deeper, the suggested Scripture reading for today is: Matthew 5:21-26
