Lent Series - Day 8 - Wisdom

Today's reflection is on...

Wisdom

Today is Thursday the eighth day of Lent.

This is entry number 9 in this series.

Today we look at the spiritual power of wisdom.

It's always available to us, always there for us to tap into. It's the place to look for guidance and right judgment. It's the storehouse of answers to help us sort through confusion and chaos in our lives and get back on track. It's the reservoir of right solutions that show us the way.

Jesus gives us clear directions on how to access this wisdom and the assurance that we will receive it when we ask for it. All we need do is believe we will receive it. The direction is found in today's Scripture reading and we can break it all down to these 3 simple words;  Ask, Search, Knock.

Jesus says:

Ask, and it will be given you; search, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." - Matthew 7:7-8

Spend some time in the silence and ask...

In his classic work Keep a True Lent, Charles Fillmore offers daily words of inspiration to reflect on as we move ourselves towards our own resurrection day and the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday and all the newness of Life that it holds for all of us.

For those of you that would like to dive in deeper, the suggested Scripture reading for today is: Matthew 7:1-12
