Lent Series - Day 15 - Elimination

Today's reflection is on...

Elimination / Renunciation

Today is Friday the 15th day of Lent.
This is entry number 17 in this series.

Today we look at the spiritual power of Elimination - Renunciation

Today's word is elimination. Releasing and letting go of those thoughts and ways of thinking that do not serve our momentum as we rise to an experience of greater good in our lives. The key is not working hard on letting go but working gently. We brush away the old thoughts by no longer giving them power to be our dominant focus. We thank them for their lesson and release them.

Replace them by flooding your consciousness with the realization of what you are as pure potential, think of love and wisdom as very real powers within you that you can choose to live from. Out with the old in with the new and fresh thoughts centered on the Truth of Good.

As we empty our mind of negative thoughts this lent, we clear our mind of debris. This weekend I was reminded that this is similar to a cluttered desk which for some, may be an inefficient way to move through our day. For me an uncluttered desk and mind allows me to make efficient choices putting on my desk only that which I want to focus on in this moment.

Likewise in my mind. I choose to hold onto thoughts of love and blessings for others, thoughts of the Divine Good I Am immersed in, and I let go of everything else that does not serve me.

In His name I affirm: "The law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus makes me free from the law of sin and death."  - Charles Fillmore

The Scripture reading that Charles Fillmore suggests for today can be found right here: Matthew 18:21-35

In his classic work Keep a True Lent, Charles Fillmore offers daily words of inspiration to reflect on as we move ourselves towards our own resurrection day and the glorious celebration of Easter Sunday and all the newness of Life that it holds for all of us.
