“Turning Defeat into Victory” Bio: Clarence has been a member of Way of Life Unity Center (Unity of Fort Walton Beach) for nearly 24 years. He, his wife Gloria, and son Franklin moved to Niceville, Florida from Ellicott City, Maryland in 1991 and joined the center soon thereafter. He has served on the Board of Directors, chaired the Nominating Committee, and supported the center’s ministry in numerous ways. Clarence has been very active through his volunteer efforts at work as well as in the community. For example, he was selected by his company at the time, Sverdrup Technology, to participate in Leadership Fort Walton Beach Chamber of Commerce program. He has served on various Professional and Community Boards of Directors such as International Test and Evaluation Association, United Way, Niceville-Valparaiso Kiwanis Club (received Distinguished President and Club Award), and the Emerald Coast Science Center as Chairman (formally the Focus Center). With two Master Degrees (Electrical Engineering and Public Administration) and with over forty years of service to his country as a military officer and contractor, Clarence has worked as an Electrical Engineer on various radar systems, countermeasures equipment, and training systems for many different aircraft and helicopter platforms. His faith keeps him grounded by attending Unity of Fort Walton Beach weekly with like-minded members and guests from all over the country.
